Cynthia Ferich
As Cynthia Ferich invites you to cook with her through her book, in her revised edition of “MaMa Mia Cucina ~ A Flavor of Good Food and Good Family”, her cooking classes, demonstrations, blogs, newsletters, events and television cooking segments, she also weaves warmth, togetherness, and celebration into the family table. She shares old world Italian favorites, techniques, and her personal story, while moving into varied areas of food interests.
Inspired by a lineage of cooking teachers, old world recipes and family favorites, teaching those who eagerly want to learn the joys of cooking is a passion and a way of life for Cynthia. As a small child, she learned to cook in the kitchens of her mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and her aunts. Cynthia believes that food is more than nourishment. Food is a connection to family, friends, celebration and life! Our healthy connections to others in our personal and professional lives are as important to our overall well being as the air we breathe, what we eat for breakfast and our daily exercise routines. She teaches that food does not need to be intimidating, but it does need to have ‘soul’, and is a matter of the ‘heart’.
Cynthia is available for brand partnerships, media promotion, private chef services, private and public cooking events and cooking classes, parties, and speaking engagements. A veteran Culinary Instructor for Williams-Sonoma, and a former Culinary Educator at Central Piedmont Community College, Charlotte, North Carolina. Her teaching experience include demonstrations, cooking classes, media appearances, speaking engagements and events throughout the Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and the Charlotte areas. She served on a panel of celebrity judges in “The Healthy Food Fight” sponsored by Bobby Flay and The Food Network.
Cynthia believes that good food nourishes both body and soul. Learning to prepare simple meals and breaking bread with family and friends invites a sanctuary from today’s busy world. Connections, understanding and memories begin at the table. “We Live, We Laugh, We Love, We Connect, We Celebrate…!”
She teaches all levels with both the beginner and expert in mind. Those new to the kitchen will increase confidence under her straightforward direction and support. The advanced will benefit from something new or a twist on an old favorite.
As much of her life was spent in the kitchen, she passionately embarked on her second career, intending to reach the masses! It is Cynthia’s hope that her television appearances, cooking classes, demonstrations, forum, blogs, and books will bring something new to the kitchen, the family, matters of health, how we connect with others, and aspiration to those that choose to follow their dreams.
Cynthia is the recipient of the Chester County’s Women In Motion ‘Tiramisu Winner Throwdown’, a former Well Life Blog contributor and Culinary Assistant to America’s Healthy Chef, Christina Pirello, of The Emmy Award Winning PBS Television Series, “Christina Cooks”, and a former contributor to the “Foodie News” for The Chester County Women’s Journal, Northern and Southern editions.
