I met Cynthia and was immediately taken in by her charm and passion for cooking. She presented me with a copy of her book, “MaMa Mia Cucina”, and I was enchanted by how well she captured the essence of Italian life and the passion for food that makes ‘la dolce vida’ so seductive. Food is more that food; it’s family, love, passion…it’s life. Cynthia will help you capture your own little slice of the charm that makes Italy…Italy.

Cynthia Ferich arrived in Charlotte in 2015 from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she appeared on KDKA television and NBC 10 with featured cooking segments and promotions for her cookbook, MaMa Mia Cucina- A Flavor of Good Food and Good Family. Cynthia began cooking in her grandmother’s Italian kitchen. She realized that generations of women were not just preparing food, but it was how they nurture and nourish the souls they dearly love. In the giving they receive. Cynthia is a delightful addition to the ‘Charlotte Cooks’ faculty.

Working with Cynthia Ferich has been a delight and a pleasure! She is the consummate professional and an engaging personality. And she really knows her stuff! Cynthia’s knowledge of cooking and recipes is second to none. From the simplest treats to the most complex meals and desserts, she can do it all. And no matter what it is she’s making, she breaks it down and makes it easy for our audience to follow. And everything she makes on our show is so delicious! Plus, you can tell she really loves what she does. I’m so impressed with what she does each time she comes on our show. Mama Mia!!!

Cynthia Ferich adds an Italian flair to the many tasty and delicious recipes she prepares for ‘Charlotte Today’. I don’t leave hungry when she is on the show. Satiated indeed!

My fiance’ and I had been recommended to use Chef Cynthia Ferich by another chef, based on her recommendation, to help get us back on track with healthy meals. We had just relocated to the Charlotte area, and with the move, new jobs, and chaos we struggled to make any healthy homemade meals. We have never had or used a personal chef in the past, and we could not have been any more fortunate to discover Cynthia! We spoke on the phone prior to her first visit, discussed our plans/wishes, favorite foods, our dislikes, and I will never forget what she told me afterward… “My goal is to make it as if I was never there… that you come home and the only thing that has changed is a fridge full of food”… and holy crap did she live up to her word!!
Cynthia was the most pleasant, respectful, and very skilled professional that I have had the pleasure to hire, she was absolutely true to her word and made the PERFECT meals!! Her work was EXACTLY as advertised/discussed. She did the shopping, would use any of our foods we picked up (or couldn’t find the time to use), and transformed them into amazing, delicious, and delightful meals!! She also packaged them all separately for us, and as I had requested, even packaged smaller containers for our lunches. The times when I came home after she had done her magic, it was exactly as she had said, you could never guess she was there… the dishes and counters were cleaned, the trash was taken out, and suddenly there was phenomenal food in our fridge! Beyond her culinary skills, her professional and heart-warming personality made her forever memorable. She was absolutely lovely.
I highly recommend, and continue to recommend, the delightful Chef Ferich to anyone looking for such services and I truly hope my need for her returns once again!

As a Personal Chef Service, we have so enjoyed working with Cynthia! During my pregnancy, I found myself unable to cook due to the smells and food aversions. As soon as we met Cynthia, we loved her! She asked us detailed questions about our food preferences and aversions. She really listened to what we were looking to do for our family. Each week, she would email a menu for us to approve; if there was something we didn’t want, she quickly adjusted it to our liking. She was able to provide wonderful food that lasted us for a few days. Each meal was prepared beautifully and included instructions for re-heating. She handled all of the groceries and even cleaned up our kitchen after she was through with cooking. She left the kitchen cleaner than before she arrived! Cynthia also would surprise us with tasty desserts each week, which was so fun! She is a true joy to work with and I would highly recommend her services to anyone seeking a personal chef for any occasion!

“For me, the best tasting meals, hands down, are ones that are prepared from the heart. From those special gifted people who truly love to cook, but do it with such meaning and purpose, that you can taste it in every morsel you eat. Cynthia Ferich, Author of MaMa Mia Cucina, has truly captured the essence of that love for cooking through the amazing collection of family recipes, as well as, the loving memories enjoyed in preparing fabulous home cooked meals. MaMa Mia Cucina is a great cookbook filled with great recipes and allows you to get a “taste” of the warmth and love that went into each recipe and into each meal. It truly is the best! Buon Appetito!” ~

There are many traditional Italian recipes that remind me of my childhood and most importantly are quick and easy to make with such a hectic work and family schedule. It’s a great solution when you don’t know what to cook. Thank you for making this book available and for the love and hard work that obviously went into the cookbook.”~

“My desire to create delicious and comforting meals for my family has always conflicted with my fear of cooking. But what I have discovered hidden amongst the pages of MaMa Mia Cucina has provided a soothing resolution for me. As I follow a given recipe from the written pages, my fear dissolves as I can almost hear the loving voices and see the skilled hands who prepared these dishes to perfection…..long before I ever attempted them. The family pictures, personal notes and copies of handwritten recipes somehow calm my fears as I realize that there is no fear in loving my family and creating delicious meals for them is just one way of demonstrating my love.”~

“Written from the heart, Cynthia Ferich’s warm tales of growing up in an Italian family supersede any cookbook I have in my collection. As the author shares in her introduction, “The generations of women in my family were not just preparing food. Their gift of cooking is…how they nurture and nourish the souls they so dearly love.” The rich stories of family passing down recipes through the generations make each dish an immediate favorite. The recipes are easy to follow using ingredients already stocked in our cupboards. A full array of appetizers, breads, salads, soups, sauces, pasta, poultry, fish, meats, vegetables and desserts, this cookbook beckons you to create your own family traditions and share them with others. I highly recommend you purchase this colorful collection of delicious Italian family favorites for yourself and a few extra to give to family and friends this holiday season!”~

The Best of Both Worlds: “So often I add books to my collection that have a singular appeal… recipes that make my mouth water just reading the ingredients; wonderful stories that transport me to another time and place. However, this book is truly the best of both worlds. With a sentimentality that reaches directly into those special places in the heart and mind, and a fantastic collection of delicious recipes, MaMa Mia Cucina immediately became my favorite go-to book.”~
Sean T. Saunders, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
“Cynthia Ferich’s cookbook, Mama Mia Cucina is a book that was clearly written with love and is full of memories of the times spent cooking with her Grandmother and other relatives. The copies of the handwritten recipes take you back to your own Grandmother’s kitchen and the recipes are purely classic Italian. I am not one who can cook by “winging” it (otherwise we would have to order take out!!) Cynthia’s recipes are easy to follow and simply delicious! I purchased 5 copies (3 as gifts for family, 1 as a hostess gift and one for myself). The book was a hit with everyone! I hope you enjoy this cookbook as much as I have and share it with your friends and family!”~
